Nonfiction book review:
Read a nonfiction book of your choosing, that is relevant to the topic of medical anthropology. Then, write a 2-3 page (500-750 words) book review. This will be similar to a book review in an academic journal: first, summarize the books content in detail, then offer your own opinion on it, such as how useful the scholarship is for people interested in medical anthropology, how convincing the central argument of the book is, how well-supported it is by evidence, and if you would recommend it (you can be critical of the book!). E.g. see section of book reviews here:

Choose a book from the site given please.
Go beyond just saying if you liked the book or not actually say whether you agree with their arguments and evidence. You only need to cite the book itself, but can cite other sources if you want, using complete APA citations.

- Watch The Linguists, which is approximately an hour long–(the film is posted below). After you’ve finished watching, write a discussion of at least 1-2 paragraphs about the film. Engage what David and Greg learn in trying to record the Chulym language in Siberia, the Sora language in India, the Chemehuevi language in Arizona, and the Kallawaya language in Bolivia. Reflect upon what you’ve learned and what you found interesting, and include any questions or pertinent analysis.
- There are Snakes (Chapters 6-10). After you’ve finished, write a thoughtful discussion about the reading–at least 2-3 paragraphs. We learn a lot about the Piraha language and culture in these chapters–what did you find out? What is the immediacy of experience principle?
- Write a 500-800 words paper about the BEHREND texts (chapters.4, 8). Also address the question why BEHREND calls emissions and radiations “sounds”, although the space is a vacuum, and therefore without a medium for transporting sounds.
- Death Of A Salesman: The scene between Willy and Howard is a very powerful one. Describe your personal reaction when you read it.
