Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
Read Chapter 9 of the text, The Call to Holiness.
Respond to the following questions by posting your answers in the discussion.
Dr. Tennent states that through God’s grand story, “the holiness of God is gloriously unleashed into the world” and “The witness of the Spirit that begins by confirming faith in our personal lives becomes the power of the Spirit to produce fruit and transform the world” (pg. 66). How have you seen God use what He has done in your life or the life of someone you know to help transform the life of another? What does righteousness have to do with transforming the lives of individuals or communities?
According to the chapter, implications of God’s spreading holiness are “both personal and corporate, both individual and systematic” (pg. 67). Several issues are also mentioned that might be impacted by systematic holiness. Describe an important issue where change you think change is needed and how the gospel and the teachings of Christ could make a difference. Be specific.
Dr. Tennent states “there is no part of creation that is not declared to be under the Lordship of Jesus Christ” and that “as Christians, we can never be content with merely a privatized faith that keeps the good news to ourselves.” (pg. 67). What would it look like to claim the field of social work for Christ? Where and how might we need to be bold or speak the truth in love to the profession to make a greater difference for the Kingdom? Explain.
Do you have a sense of “missional holiness” as a social worker? Why or why not?
I will need subheadings on the assignment……..
