Information systems have evolved at a rapid pace ever since their introduction in the 1950s. Today, devices that we can hold in one hand are more powerful than the computers used to land a man on the moon. The Internet has made the entire world accessible to us, allowing us to communicate and collaborate with each other like never before. For instance, a company encourages employees to work remotely and tries to identify a free or affordable application that enables all employees to communicate virtually. What are the IT options available to enable the team?
You have been asked to provide a recommendation to the company CEO on a top emerging trend that offers the biggest opportunity for the organization. You will include the following in your analysis and recommendation:
- Summarize the emerging trends for each of the management information systems infrastructures.
- Describe what is changing and its impact on business processes.
- How has back-up, recovery, and business planning been impacted?
- Does artificial intelligence play a role in decision-making?
- Select the emerging trend with the biggest opportunity for a business.
- How will this trend solve a current issue within the organization?
- Provide a final summary and recommendation to the CEO on the selected emerging trend.
Hint: The primary information for this assignment is found in the textbook readings for this week. However, the emerging trend information needs to be supplemented with articles from the AIU Library.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

- Length: 5 pages minimum
- Body: This begins on the page following the title page and must be double-spaced (be careful not to triple- or quadruple-space between paragraphs). The typeface should be 12-pt. The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 5 pages. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
- Reference page: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hanging indent, italics, and uppercase and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the Reference page is not a bibliography but a further listing of the abbreviated in-body citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-body citation.
