In my paper I will be discussing the general history of Dominican, Mexican, and Puerto Rican history in the state of New York. In addition to a providing a general understanding of the social, economic, and political history of Latin Americans in New York, I will more specifically cover The Young Lords organization.
“In the paper’s beginning, give some information about the history or growth of Latinos (specify which group(s) make up the majority and when they arrived), major jobs/industries, and political involvement. I assume many will pick a specific issue or activist organization or individual activist to write about. But the background information is important to set the stage.
Also, look at some data bases like Google Scholar, and Proquest newspapers (LA Times, NY Times, Chicago Tribune) for newspaper articles), and newspapers.com.
Be sure to cite sources correctly. Remember that citation page, title page do not count toward the minimum page count. I want to see 4 full pages, double spaced, one inch margins, 12 point font or I won’t accept it.”
