An ideal city is An Environment that encourages people to feel at ease. an Environment that fosters a sense of community. quality of life is one of the most important aspects of living in a city. Unfortunately for the longest time i never got to experience that with living in syria for most of my teenage years. i struggled for the longest time comprehending what true good urban planning was.
After returning to the states and pursuing my undergrad in interior design/Pre-Architecture, i was able to learn a lot on how design impacts human cognitive function, physical health, and psychological well-being. biophlic design is something that truly highlighted my college experience.
Biophilic Design focuses on creating a calming space with a visual connection with nature while improving wellbeing, health and productivity. understand this concept helped me realize that planning not only impacts the present but has a long term effect on the future. I realized there was more to just a space but this method can be applied to a city wide range.
I decided to take a sustainability urban planning course. this course truly opened my eyes on the impacts urban planning has on our future as citizens. rephrase this completely: “Natural space in cities also helps to improve cities’ sustainability.
It provides free environmental benefits like clean air and water, flood defence, and natural shade. On buildings, vegetation can help to regulate temperature and air quality and reduce the building’s climate footprint.”

When urban planning is done well, it can increase people’s wellbeing, reduce carbon emissions, and boost the economic output of an area. I want to be able to learn more on urban planning when it comes to prosperity, livability, and equity. rephrase this completely “The future will be defined by how cities grow and how people benefit from their progress. Inspired and determined, I want to contribute to the world through my career. I’m pursuing urban planning to create tangible solutions that improve city conditions and life.”
