Choose a culture different from your own and a social condition that is of particular interest to you. Find out how the culture you chose and the condition you are interested in impact or are impacted by each other. You must use at least two references. Use APA. (5-6 pages.)
· Describe the culture you have chosen, how it is different from your own, and why you chose this culture. (2-3 paragraphs, ½ page)
· Describe the social issue you have chosen, why it interests you, and how it informs (or is influenced by) macro social work. What is your perspective on this culture and this social issue? (2-3 paragraphs, ½ page)
· Find and summarize at least two author’s perspectives on the culture and on the social issue. Identify at least one author who is a member of the culture, if possible. (1 page)
· How does the social issue you chose relate to social, economic or environmental justice? (1/2 page)
· Give examples of how the social condition impacts small groups, community, and organizational levels. (1/2 page)
· Relate your observations back to at least two of the theories discussed this semester. Use references as appropriate. (1-2 pages)
· How does the information you gathered relate to the practice of social work? How does the information you gathered contribute to our understanding of human behavior? (1 page).
