In a two to three page essay, identify a problem at RPCC and propose at least two practical solutions. Students must create a thesis statement that clearly identifies the problem, uncovers the causes, and suggests solutions. Support for the thesis statement can be in the form of anecdotes (brief stories), examples, statistics, interviews, quotes, and visuals. To make the argument credible, make sure that the proposed solution will help solve the problem, can be implemented, and is worth the expense, time, and effort to do so. Resources will need to be cited on a Works Cited page.

Students will need a minimum of two outside sources for this essay. Common resources used include: interviews, surveys, photographs, emails, and websites. An example Works Cited page is attached in the PAS Essay instructions. Additional citation examples are located in Chapter 16 of TCOEL textbook.
