In our first subtopic, we looked at a number of graphs describing the trend in insecticide use. We can see that the amount of insecticide used per acre dropped between 1996 and 2008 for both corn and cotton. Is there anything else we should consider before issuing the statement “Bt corn and cotton allows growers to use less pesticides per acre saving them money and decreasing the impact on the environment” Here, please just provide what other information you would need, if any, to make this statement confidently. We discussed the most prevalent GM traits and their adoption and use today. Find another GM trait being worked on or one that has come to market (provide a source of information) What type of impact do you believe this technology will have over the next 10-20 years?
