In this class, you’ve learned how many phenomena that may initially seem unrelated can actually be conceptually similar in some deep way. For example, two seemingly unrelated phenomena might both be examples of “the tragedy of the commons.”
For this assignment, discuss three pairs of this kind of deep conceptual link. For each pair, briefly discuss the two phenomena of interest, then explain the ways in which these phenomena are actually manifestations of a single concept you learned in this class. You must discuss three different concepts, but you may reuse some of your phenomena (for the purposes of this class, you can think of a phenomenon as “something happening in the world” and concepts as “explanations of why things work in the ways they do”).
