The aim of the written report is to create or adapt an attitudinal scale relevant to your research interest. Submit a report on the development and trial of the measure.
You are to adhere to NIE’s policy on assignment submission, i.e., to include the Declaration form and Turnitin report. The report should include the following:
Introduction: Rationale for the choice, source of the scale, and purpose.
Review of Literature: Construct conceptualization and operational definition
Method: Sample, procedure, analysis techniques.
Qualitative try-out: Observation, subjects’ comments, follow-up modification
Quantitative try-out: Item statistics, correlations, modifications.
Appendices: Original (initial item-pool and item modifications), revised (for quantitative try-out), and final (for use and further validation) versions of the scale. *Use attached developed scale as base ** The quantitative analysis should include the use of factor analysis.
Attitude towards Public Speaking (revised edition)
This research is geared towards finding out if an individual has positive or
negative attitudes towards conducting a public speaking session.
The questions have been categorized into 3 categories:
1. Cognitive: information about public speaking
2. Affect: positive or negative feelings towards conducting public speaking
3. Behaviour: tendency or disposition to act in a certain way
