This final paper is intended to be a culmination of what you have learned over the course of this semester. Papers should be written as a first-person narrative, and should address one (1) of the topics listed below
Regardless of which topic you choose, your paper should include the following information. Explain using the terminology from the designated chapter(s).
What is the thing problem/issue/conflict? (50 points)
What strategies is proposed? (25 points)
Depending on the topic you choose:
This will be proposed by you,
By a specified art piece,
Or by a social media post.
How is the proposed strategy working? (50 points)
Explain the effectiveness and outcome of this strategy. (50 points)
If you choose a topic where you are proposing a strategy, explain why it would be the best solution.
If you have identified an art or social media message, explain how it is creating an effective message.
Papers will be graded according to the thoroughness of your writing, the strength of your specific examples, correct use of terminology, and the accuracy of your understanding of the communication concepts. Points may be taken off for excessive formatting, spelling, or grammar errors.

Topic Options
Communication in the Workplace
Read: Chapter 1 (What is Communication) and Chapter 2 (Communicating in Groups)
This option asks you to examine a communication problem or issue that exists in your place of work. Work can be defined as team you are a member of (e.g., dance team, football team, etc.)
Formatting
All submissions must be in .doc or .docx (MS word), or .pdf format.
Typed, with your name, course and section number, and current date at the top left-hand corner.
11 or 12-point standard font (New Times Roman, Calibri, Arial, etc.).
Double-spaced (please do not add extra space between paragraphs).
1” margins all around.
2-3 pages in length (this is approximately 500-800 words).
I go by word count, not page count. Do not adjust your formatting (margins, tabs, spacing, font, etc.) to meet the page count. If you are having trouble getting to 500 words, or staying under 800 words, please email me for assistance. I can give you tips on how to expand your topic to meet the minimum length, or how to edit to stay under the maximum length.
