Introduction: I picked this topic because it has been an ongoing issue and it is an issue that is being faced today. The purpose of this paper is to discuss nursing shortages in healthcare today and how it is impacting the healthcare system and the role of nursing shortage and how it impacts economics in health care.
Body of paper. The paper will discuss:
-What is a nursing shortage.
-Main contributors to the nursing shortage.
-How the nursing shortage is impacting patient care today.
-Nursing shortage concern from a health care economics perspective.
-Recommendation for making improvements based on economic principles.
Conclusion. I expect my findings to be that nurses are being undervalued and overworked leading to unsafe conditions in which nurses are quitting or being fired.
