ASSESSMENT 3 DIRECTIONS
Throughout your professional career, you may want to submit a video to showcase your professional abilities and image. Many are using videos on LinkedIn to reach potential employers. For this assessment, you are required to produce a video designed to showcase your professional abilities to persuade a potential employer that you are the best candidate for the position. Create a 120–180 second (2–3 minute) video that highlights your professional skills and experience. Remember to use professional language, and keep in mind that the audience is a potential employer. It is important to establish your viewpoint and purpose for the video and sustain why you are the best candidate through the video.
Since this is a video-based assignment, no additional visuals are required. Consider these ideas for your video: excitement about your career; excellence in your field; leadership with proven impact; excellent public speaking, listening, written, and interpersonal skills; passion for success in everything you do; volunteer activities; awards and honors.
This video is good preparation for answering the common interview question, “Tell me about yourself.”
Think about yourself as a professional, and answer these questions (at minimum) in your video submission:
What is your name? What are you currently doing? What do you hope to do in the future career-wise?
What are your professional strengths?
What is your experience working in teams?
What leadership roles have you been in (professional or personal)?
What awards, nominations, and/or recognitions have you received?
How do you continue to grow in your area of interest?
What makes you an asset to an employer?
Why should a company hire you?
