THE NAME OF THE TEXTBOOK USED IN THIS COURSE/CLASS IS “HUMAN DEVELOPMENT – A LIFE SPAN VIEW” 8th edition. I would be glad if my writer can make use of this “very” textbook. Thank you.
Exam Project Instructions
 General Overview
o Choose a concept from the course that has been covered in the first half of the
semester and provide examples of this concept that is seen in the media (TV shows,
movies, books, podcasts, youtube videos, etc.).
 These depictions can be taken from fiction or from non-fiction sources.
 You can use any source you like, the only thing I ask is that you find the
source on your own. Do not use specific sources that are mentioned in class or
posted on the Canvas page. The goal is for you to pull from a media source
that you have found and that is of interest to you. You can use some of the
sources as a jumping off point.
 For example, I have links to some podcasts. You can find a specific
episode from that podcast on your own and use it, but if I have linked a
specific episode, then that one is off limits.
 Some specifics
o First you need to find a concept or topic that is in the course that is of interest to you.
Then you are going summarize the content from the course in your own words.
o Make sure you are choosing a topic that has been covered in the first half of the
semester.
o Next you are then going to do your best to describe how the concept is portrayed or
discussed in that media source that you found. Essentially you will summarize the
content of that media source.
 You should also provide a link to the source. For example if it is a podcast,
copy and paste the episode info and podcast info, if it is a book copy and paste
the title of the book or include a screenshot of the book. Essentially, I need
you to provide me with enough information that I can find the content that you
are describing.
o Finally you are going to tell me to the best of your abilities if the topic from the
course is correctly or incorrectly or partially correctly discussed in the media source
that you find.
 This is where you need to really think critically about the topic you have
selected, about what you have learned about the topic, and if the media source
depicted the topic/concept correctly.
 Formatting Specifics
o 12 point font, Times New Roman
o Double Spaced
o APA formatting is encouraged but not required
 You must cite your sources to the best of your ability or it will be considered
plagiarism
o You will submit this on Canvas and it will be run through the software TurnItIn
o You should aim to submit a document that is between 2 – 3 pages, but you can turn in
a longer assignment if needed
 You will be graded on the following
o Followed all the directions
o Detailed coverage of the course topic
o Detailed coverage of the media depiction
o Detailed analysis of the media depiction
o Spelling
o Grammar
 A few concluding remarks
o The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to dive into a topic that is of interest to
you and to seek out how it is portrayed in “the popular media.” My hope is that you
will find this a valuable learning experience and an enjoyable one
o Please remember to follow all the instructions, but also know there is a little bit of
wiggle room for you to be creative with this assignment.
o You are welcome to bring in outside sources about the course topic, but it is not required.

This one has some interviews with psychologists and often talks about psychology very generally, and not always accurately.
