Tom is a 56-year-old man, who was involved in a Road Traffic Accident 18 months ago. He is married to Mary and they have three teenage children. Tom is now paralyzed from the waist down, as a result of his accident and has very limited use of his left hand and arm. Tom is right-handed.
Tom is wheelchair-bound and requires complete or partial assistance with most ADLs. Tom was transferred from the Rehabilitation Unit to the Nursing Home, as he and his family await adaptations to be carried out in his home. He expects to be going home in the next few months when the adaptations to his home are complete.
