Personal growth as I am caregiver (7 years of experience) and recently become a RN. Will start my job soon as a RN at the hospital.
My name is Mingma Sherpa. I was born in Nepal and lived in a village named Solukhumbu in a rural area where there were no hospitals, nurses or doctors. If a person was sick, he/she needed to walk for three hours and if unable to walk then the patient was carried in a stretcher by two to four people to see a doctor because of lack of transportation. In Nepal today, things are much better, but still people are not aware of their health conditions. Most people do not do their annual health checkups. They go to see a doctor only when they are very sick. These factors caused my father to become diabetic and a liver disease patient. He did not realize that he had health issues and died when he was only 43 years old. Therefore, I have become passionate about becoming a healthcare professional. I am a US citizen and resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico. People in New Mexico are comparatively poor to people in other US states, and those who live in poverty generally have poor health conditions. Obesity, diabetes, and liver disease are the common diseases in New Mexico. I want to help people of New Mexico to take better care of their health by educating and providing nursing care in time and prevent diseases and unnecessary death.
Please add: New Mexico also fall under poor education in the United States. I want to educate the community how important is education for healthy and prosperous living. Add some good thigs here.
I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in 2016 and a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in 2018. I have also earned an Associate degree in Applied Science: Medical Assisting with High Honors from Santa Fe Community College in 2018.I graduated from ADN Nursing program from Santa Fe Community College with High Honors in May 2021, and I passed the NCLEX-RN exam in July 2021. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.82. I am admitted to RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in the University of New Mexico for the Fall semester of 2021.
Dreams and goals are road map for me that have motivated me to move forward with passion and determination in my life. My future goal is to complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at the University of New Mexico (UNM) by the end of the year 2022 and then I will apply for MSN Nursing Program in the Fall 2023. Pursuing Nursing degree program will ultimately help me to achieve my dream to become a health care professional.
I worked as a caregiver for 7 years. I help and assist disabled and elderly people with transferring, positioning, toileting, dressing, exercising, reminding them to take medicines, providing companionship, and driving them to doctors and therapy appointments. I love taking care of disabled and elderly people for I am a compassionate person.
To become a skillful and more knowledgeable in the health profession I pursued Nursing field and recently become a Registered Nurse (RN). I have applied Registered Nurse position at Christus St. Vincent Reginal Medical Center at Santa Fe, NM. I will gain more skill, knowledge, and experience by working there and serve the community.

I am an independent person. I have worked part time to pursue my academic goals and I have achieved it by becoming RN. I want to upgrade my knowledge, skills, and education therefore, I joined BSN and after completing my BSN I will join MSN. Please polish these sentences and mention that being working as part time/ financial hardship I have accomplished my goals. I am the only one person who support myself financially: paying rent, tuition fee, other expenses.
This scholarship will help me to pursue my goals and dreams without worrying about finance. It would be very hard to accomplish my goals and dreams without scholarship. I have a strong desire to become a compassionate and skillful nurse to provide good care and prevent people from suffering and unnecessary death. I will study hard and do my best to accomplish my goals and dream and serve the Community for the betterment.
