A project is defined as a series of tasks that need to be accomplished within a given time to achieve a certain outcome. It is important that one uses a proper approach to achieve the five major aspects of a project namely the scope, the resources, time, quality, and scope of the project. Criminology is based on the laws of a state and is aimed at studying criminals and the crimes that they commit. In doing so, one studies the motive behind certain actions, the action itself, the repercussions of the action. It also explains some aspects such as the means that are used in delivering justice fairly to the offender. This paper is an analysis of a project based on several guidelines.
The mission and purpose of the project are to create a very safe environment for the citizens of Chicago by the use of some police strategies or measures while at the same time cooperating with the citizens. The Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy ensures that the police and the citizens are well aware of their roles in ensuring national security.
There are several outcomes of the project. When the police and the civilians cooperate with each other, there is a high unity among the means of fighting crimes (Innes, 2017). The outcome of such coordination is the reduction in the workload of police officers. The reduction in workload means more efficiency to the working of the police units. It also ensures that the public is aware of their rights, freedoms, means that they can use to report and even some measures that they can use to fight crime rates in the state. Since a police officer in Chicago is supposed to look for the sources of error or crimes in the state, the reporting b citizens reduces the scouting that the officer is supposed to do to stop crimes.
There are several departments that may need to be involved in the project. The first one is the different police departments in Chicago. There are several departments of police that are found in Chicago depending on the role that they play in the development of the state. The first one is the canine unit, the civil rights unit, the educational ad training department, the marine, and helicopter unit, the mounted unit, and the special investigations unit (Chicago Police Department, 2021). The different departments should work together to educate the citizens on the crime combating techniques and how they can cooperate with each other for maximum value development. It is also essential that one has some measures such as the development f proper techniques to avoid some risks as they try t report or combat crimes among the people.
There are several risks that may be incurred in the process of the project. The first one is that citizen life may be placed at risk since they are no as well trained as police officers. Though the different police departments may offer some training to the civilians, it may not be enough to meet the standards of the outside world. The second risk is the lack of cooperation between citizens and police officers. This risk may come in when a person involved in a crime is a friend or relative of a law-abiding citizen This may lead to some compromise to the aim of the project since they may not be willing to work with the police officers to burst the criminal.
