Introduction

During the present business scenario, quality assurance in any kind of job or contract is crucial, mainly for this the need for a quality and value management system emerges with the business organization. quality management system (QMS) is a set of business assist to improve at identifying future and exceeding customer expectations. It is in line with an organization’s mission and strategic goals. It takes the form of organizational objectives and aspirations, strategies, procedures, recorded information, and the resources required to enforce and sustain it. This file pertains to the information regarding the quality planning and its management system in the context of the construction of a building named Z within Kingswood campus, constructing by ABC constructors Pvt. Ltd. Australia.

Task 1: Quality management system

Quality management system

A quality management system is a collection of activities that includes quality preparation and development, as well as the creation of a set of quality policies and goals that will serve as instructions for an organization. Meeting the needs of the customer helps to build trust in the company, which leads to more customers, more sales, and more repeat business. Meeting the organization’s requirements, which ensures regulatory compliance and the most cost- and resource-efficient delivery of goods.

For ABC Contractors, quality has always been a company’s business priority. ABC Contractors try to make or meet consumer needs for its products and services. We promote the promotion of a quality culture within the business to achieve this goal (Arditi, Nayak and Damci, 2017). To protect our image and ensure long-term viability, we focus on removing “non-quality.”

System structure

Different types of records may be used in the QMS documentation. Documents such as the Quality Policy, Quality Manual, processes, job orders, quality plans, and records are usually included. As seen in the diagram below, the QMS documentation can be organized into a hierarchy:

Structuring of ISO 9001QMS documentation

Different forms of information must be recorded according to ISO 9001; however, not all information must be documented as separate records. It is flexible, allowing the company to choose the size of the report and the level of detail that should be included (Heiskanen, 2017). Small businesses, for example, may have created rules in their QMS manual.

AS/NZS ISO 9001:2016 Quality Management System

ISO 9001 is a global framework that outlines the standards for a quality management system (QMS). Quality is used by businesses to show that they can continuously provide goods and services that meet consumer and regulatory requirements.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an international organization made up of national standards bodies from over 160 countries, first published ISO 9001 in 1987. In September 2015, the most recent version of ISO 9001 was released.

All organizations that use ISO 9001 are encouraged to transition to ISO 9001:2015 as soon as possible. This includes not only organizations that are certified to ISO 9001:2008, but also any organizations involved in training or certifying others.

Task 2: Project Quality Plan

Applying QMS in the organization with additional process

Balancing cost quality and time, low cost and high quality can be maintained at the cost of time. On the other hand, a high-quality, quick-turnaround project can be completed at a high cost. Quality is critical for a successful project, even if the client does not prioritize it.
The QMS is critical for meeting the needs of the promoters/owners, contractors, and other stakeholders, resulting in higher client satisfaction (Niranjan and Nisha,2018). The value of enforcement and audit benefits for the construction industry like ABC contractors Pvt. ltd. is well understood by industry players. Some vendors have also worked hard to become accredited with MS ISO 9000, even though the standard’s acceptance is limited because they believe that certification will incur unnecessary costs and create obstacles during the system’s implementation. They do not know, however, that introducing it would result in value addition and cost savings.
Poor quality, on the other hand, may cause the builder to incur unwelcome cost increases. Failure, prevention, and assessment costs may all be incurred. As a result, consistency must be incorporated into the process from the start and throughout. It is critical at the outset, starting with a quality control plan at the project management level, where drawings and plans are made. With the continued help of management, quality standards and design will improve the project’s quality. For the project to be successful, all parties involved must work together. Therefore, the quality management system is beneficial for the organizations like ABC contractors Pvt. Ltd.

The Basic Structure Diagram

This diagram shows that the relationship between the client contract and the quality management system. The below-mentioned points depict the relationship.

The organizational management system is directly connected with the client, the agreement of contract came into existence with the consent of both parties. The quality management system seems to be directly related to the management team and indirectly related to the client.

The quality management system works following the specifications given by the OMS (organizational management system) regarding the requirements of the client.

The client specifies the requirements about the general, technical as well as material inputs which are required to execute the project such as the Z building.

Effect of Project Quality Plan

The quality management system works as per the given guidelines and working conditions allowed by the organizational management system. And the organizational management works according to the specifications or requirements of the client (Rumane, 2017). Several requirements of the client are involved while allowing the contract to any vendor organization such as ABC contractors Pvt. Ltd. Some of the requirements of the client such as, time and cost that depend on the size of the project or building which is required to be constructed, and in the context of the quality management team the affecting factor may be the number of workers as well as engineers working over it.

Besides this, the quality, safety and environment are the priority requirements of any client, as it is essential for the vendor organization named ABC contractors, to adopt a high-quality management team and audit team to match the supreme quality standards of building construction that can ensure the quality, safety, safe working environment to the client within Kingswood campus. Quality assurance must be the prior principle of any construction company.

Task 3: Quality Procedure

Definition

To make a stronger building that can be beneficial for the people of the kings’ wood campus, the old cladding system’s main element will be replaced by a modern, tougher, and reliable Brick wall. The entire building wall will be covered with these bricks so that the Z building looks more attractive and stronger enough to handle any type of natural uncertainties (De Feo, 2017).

Process Description

Step 1:

To begin, place bricks from both edges of the wall where even the columns will be placed. After the appropriate foundations are being laid, this should be achieved. Build a simple outline at wall level in between three outside bricks with the string thread.

Step 2:

After that, pile five buckets of water of sands or one scoop of concrete on an old sheet. To achieve a clear color, turn the shovel. Make a central cavity, fill it with water, then mix it all. Repeat until you have a creamy, smooth feel that is moist but not too loose.

Step 3:

Then, down the string thread, laid a 1-2cm powder bed. Place the very first bricks through one end as well as tap gently to ‘bed in’. Using a mortar, ‘grease up’ the side of the next brick as well as an about this to the current (De Feo, 2017).

Step 4:

Position a brick back to a corner of the block wherever that want the foundations to rise. Each successive series of pillar blocks should be placed in the reverse way when they create the wall.

Step 5:

Half-bricks are used for certain activities when constructing pillars. Position the bricks on its hand, find the boost only at point location, and forcefully hit the face with such a hammer weapon to create a cut. The first time it splits, it should be clean.

Step 6:

Still make the columns at minimum a path lower than that of the remainder of the building. As they construct, push the permanent marker up and down, burying this in the plaster mostly on foundations. Each brick’s edge must be over the middle and the one underneath it in brick masonry.

Roles and Responsibilities

Bricklayers are experienced craftsmen who make stone walls by building houses with the appropriate cement mortar. They understand the various styles of bricks mostly on market as well as how to create or restore walls according to industry requirements.

Analyzing and analyzing architectural drawings.
Taking work orders and figuring out what supplies are required.
Measuring the gap between two points.
Trying to calculate angles including deciding how courses can be aligned vertically and horizontally.
Using cement as a binding agent and a needle and thread to level the bricks.
Wire screws or mortar are used to secure bricks.
Working professionally at varying heights on substrates and swings phases.
Doing simple construction duties with the proper machinery and materials.

Authorization

The Civil engineer of the Building will approve the procedure by checking the entire details and also make some recommendations if necessary, for the betterment. The manager will make sure that the material required for replacing old cladding with the new Brick wall is much enough so that work keeps on going and not be delayed by any elements (Backström, Fundin and Johansson, 2017).

Document Control

Choose the correct bricks and build a wall that is at least 215mm thick.
Underneath the capping/coping, choose a high-bond DPC sandwiched in mortar.
At the foundation, place an engineering brick DPC.
Use precipitation mortar opening or a bucket string.

Task 4: Inspection and task plan

An Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) is a plan that lists the plan to manage the quality control and monitoring of a specific element of building work. It includes information on the specifications, a description of the method(s) to be used, the roles and responsibilities of relevant parties, and photographic evidence to be given to verify compliance. Although, the steps involved in the procedure of inspection and task plan for building construction are described below.

Scope: This beginning stage pertains to the scope of the project means estimation regarding the time costs and material required or to be procured for the construction.
Determination of criteria: The need for several insurances like labor, costs, and material in each sub-division of construction of the building (Natarajan, 2017). Besides this, the amount of material and labor and other required inputs available on the construction site as well as the working hours per day, costs of fuel, water, electricity, etc. And other relevant aspects are required to be considered and registered at determining the stage of inspection.
Workout the stages of delivery: At the time of closing of each day working hours the report must be prepared regarding the work performed by the manpower and engineers during the whole day. Besides this, the amount of all kinds of inputs are used also required to be recorded.
Detail each particular aspect of ITP:Every item of input and output is required to be recorded as per time. For ascertaining the effective and efficient construction work an audit team is also required by the vendor construction company like ABC contractors Pvt ltd.

Conclusion

Based on the above report it has been concluded that present business scenario the quality assurance in any kind of job or contract is crucial, mainly the need for a quality and value management system emerges with the business organization. The quality management system must be involved in the working of every kind of organization for their systematization of operations.
