For your module reflection:
Talk about housework in your family of origin: In what ways, if any, did the responsibility for these chores differ by age and gender? Did women and men, girls and boys have different responsibilities? Do you think the responsibilities were “fair”? Was there conflict in the household because of the division of labor? If so, how were these conflicts resolved? In what ways did gender ideologies shape the household division of labor as discussed in lecture? If your parents got divorced, was gender ideology, and the division of household labor, an issue that led to the divorce, directly or indirectly?
Reflect on domestic violence as a public issue by referring to lecture, Private Violence, and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence website.
Reflect on health care policy– Obamacare, the possibility of Single-Payer Healthcare, and the social determinants of health as related to the podcast. If the research showing that at Single Payer system would be less costly and everyone would be covered, why hasn’t the U.S. adopted this system? I have my own thoughts on this which I’ll share after I hear yours.
