BLM and Defund the Police have within the movement, individuals and organizations. These individuals and organizations are diverse and often have quite varied with often radical, political stances. The organizations are not the focus of this discussion. The movements are. Where they came from, and ultimately, whether the movements are valid, or not. Select one movement at a time for the post. You may reference the other collaterally as they exist contemporaneously. Implement the effects of violence and victimization and apply it to the analysis. The first post should discuss the origins of the particular movement applying the ideas of violence and victimization, specifically the theories. If find a reference in the textbook, you can cite to it, but on your honor, you should read the reference before citing it. If you make a statement, back it up with a research…even those references which go against your personal convictions. The second post should discuss whether you have found a basis for the legitimacy of the movement, academically supported. It need not be a wholehearted endorsement in either direction.
