Lab 2 Report with minimum of 7 pages. I have put a sample report as an example on how they want it written and formatted and to see how they need it with graphs from the data in excel. Lab Report Sections 1. Abstract: Briefly discuss what you are going to do in this lab, how do you achieve the goal of this lab, and what results are you expecting from this lab. No longer than half page. 2. Introduction: Each time we start performing a new type of testing (compression, bending, …), the report corresponding to that specific type of test should contain theoretical background. It should contain separate paragraphs about the material type. It should contain one finalizing paragraph that states what you are trying to achieve by performing the experiment. 3. Methods: Include a picture of your setup/apparatus/fixtures while your sample is installed prior testing. Instead of mentioning the dimensions, types, and number of specimens inside your text, you should create a table that contains all the information. 4. Results: Include a comprehensive table (as shown on sample reports on eLearning), with appropriate units, and significant figures ( load-displacement, yield points, etc.) For each test group use mean, and standard deviation. . Maintain the same unit used in your table and graphs. Though data interpretation is not meant for this section, the measured/analyzed values should be briefly mentioned (in text format). 5. Discussion: Data interpretation. Discuss the results of the tests, try to explain the phenomenon of the tests using the theories of mechanics of materials. Compare the differences between different specimens for the same type of tests and explain why. Include pictures of fractures/deformed samples here. 6. Conclusion: Conclude all results from this lab. 7. Reference: List all citations in your report following a certain professional reference format. (ex, IEEE, APA, etc.) 8.Conceptual Questions : Complete all conceptual questions.
