Interview Requirements:
Conduct an interview with an adult (one person) who may represent three stages of senior adulthood: young old 65-74; middle old, 75-84; and oldest-old, 85 and older.
Explain the purpose of the assignment to the interviewee and obtain his/her verbal consent to be interviewed.
Note in your summary that you obtained verbal consent from the interviewee.
The interviews should be submitted in a summary format. Do not use the persons name or specific identifying information in your paper. Please use an alternate name for anonymity.
The interview post should be 500 words.
Your Discussion Post: The interviews should contain basic information about the person, including but not limited to:
physical health
their culture
mental well-being
emotional adjustment (experience loss or grief)
support system
financial resources
living arrangements
activity level
church/community involvement
leisure and activities engagement at home/community or with family.
In your summary, please highlight your impression/conclusion on the persons current social role in the environment they live in, with their families, and in the community. Also, please ask how the person deals with losses, grieving, or chronic illness and their coping mechanisms.
