SCENARIO
Write a short paper (2 pages) reflecting on how you will meet the three aspects of the tripartite model for nurse educators: teaching, service, and scholarship. The reflection paper should include the following:
• Clearly state which nurse educator role you would like to attain following completion of your MSN.
• Briefly analyze the teaching, service, and scholarship expectations for that role as you understand them.
• Discuss a variety of activities and approaches you will use to meet each aspect of the tripartite model: teaching, service, and scholarship. Ensure that these will improve practice in your chosen educator role. If you have specific goals, such as writing for publication, please include them.
• Identify and describe any additional qualifications that you believe would strengthen your ability to be successful in your chosen role. How will these improve your ability to become a change agent in this role (additional education, certifications, skills, and so on)?
Additional Requirements
• The paper should be double spaced in Microsoft Word and formatted according to current APA formatting guidelines (including citations and references).
• Limit the paper to three pages (not counting the title and reference pages).
• Cite at least two credible sources from peer-reviewed journals or professional industry publications less than five years old to support the role expectations for the tripartite roles.
• Utilize correct APA formatting to set up the paper, the citations, and references. See the Writing Center for APA resources specific to your degree level.
• Use any 12-point APA approved font.
• The paper should be free of grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors. Avoid contractions, jargon, and slang.
This is a reflection paper and should consist largely of your own views, although references for sources related to the tripartite should be in utilized and in correct APA format. You may write from a first-person perspective. Do not refer to yourself in the third person.
