– Answer the following questions in
full, proper sentences, directly below the question, and include referencing where
appropriate/required – both in text and at the end of your text as a full
reference – such as in a reference list (i.e., question 4a). Remember: Providing
answers without credible sourcing (where required) is an unsubstantiated and
unsearched claim/assumption or it could be plagiarism. If you simply write your
opinions and present them as facts, you cannot receive a grade. It’s
impossible to give grades to opinions
(that is, non-sourced claims) and further, it’s impossible to give marks if you
do not include a reference in your text as well as fully cited below your text
(per APA conventions, such as you would in a reference page, where required).
1. In how many categories do you
have a score above 24 (meaning, that you would need to work on that category)? Max 50 words.
2. What are your two highest-ranked
categories? Max 50
words.
3. Are you surprised by the
results? – not just your highest and lowest scores – but any and all of the
results? What surprised you most – if anything? (be specific as to what
surprised you or not, why or why not).
Max 250 words.
4. Delving more deeply into your TWO
highest ranked categories,
provide an example of when your eating
was triggered by each of those factors (e.g., if social eating is one of your top ranked categories, you could
discuss a time when you weren’t hungry but your roommate ordered a pizza at
11pm and you ended up eating several slices despite not being hungry or feeling
like pizza at the time). Repeat for your other top-ranked category (if you
have more than two top-ranked categories, choose whichever two you like!). Max
350 words.
4a. Discuss SPECIFIC examples related to one strategy you could employ in
the future when you find yourself in similar situations – that is, ONE STRATEGY
FOR EACH OF for your TWO top-ranked categories. Answering this question
does not mean simply copy and pasting suggestions from your textbook; it
involves going ONE STEP FURTHER than
what is suggested in your textbook and providing concrete examples (Example: for social eating, one strategy
your textbook offers is assertive communication (amongst others) –
therefore, you could provide examples of how to be assertive in your
communication; that is, what is assertive communication (per the literature)? How
can you be more assertive in your communication (per the literature)? How could
this be applied in a similar situation? Another
example: for thinking eating, one strategy your textbook offers is being less
self-critical (amongst others) – therefore, you could provide examples of
how to be less critical or judgemental of yourself (research-based techniques),
the detriments of being self-critical (per the literature), and how this can be
applied in a similar situation. (At least one reference PER STRATEGY is required (so a minimum of 2
references total) so you can show you understand the strategy and how
you’d apply it to the same situation in the future. Max 600 words.
