Generate a Research Question about an idea contained within the reading or readings.

Learning Goal: I’m working on a english multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn. The purpose of this assignment is invite you to think deeply about the relevance of using rhetoric not only in the academic subculture but in the “real” world (wherever that is), particularly given the amount of illogic that exists in our culture today in the form of fallacies, biases, motivated reasoning, and fake news. Somehow this assignment feels even more relevant as we experience a world defined by quarantines, extreme social distancing, and competing interpretations of what it all means in the media. InstructionsThere are two main parts to this assignment:Write a Research Question, and respond to it (10 points).
Generate a Research Question about an idea contained within the reading or readings. If you don’t know what a Research Question is, please read A Pocket Style Manual (PSM) Section 25 Posing a Research Question (pp. 89-92).
Answer your own research question in 250+ words. Take a position on the question. In addition to having a debatable thesis statement, be sure to use specific evidence (including quotations) from the reading(s), from the Internet, and from the SMC Library DatabasesLinks to an external site. to back up and illustrate your ideas.
Post your research question and response.
2. Respond to at least two other student postings (5 points). In responses of at least 125 words each, respond to two student postings. You can agree with what has been said, building on the argument by adding more reasoning and evidence. You could also disagree with what has been posted, using counterargument to suggest why your position is superior to the other ideas that have been discussed. Another approach would be to suggest an entirely new way of responding to the question. The key is to further the exploration of the idea presented in the research question.
Make sure that you do the following:If you need help with using the Discussion Board, watch this video (Links to an external site.).
