Title:
The title should be clear, concise and specifically descriptive to reflect the focus of the dissertation. The title should indicate the topic, sample population and that it is a systematic review.
Abstract:
A summary of your study, therefore written in the past tense as all your dissertation should be. Is it 300 words or less, but not too much less [Ideally one side of A4 including key words]? Does it include an introduction or background of the problem, study aim & objectives, systematic review methods, results and conclusion/interpretation/recommendations? Is all of the information specific and clear, especially the results? Interpretation and recommendations should be reflective of the findings and where future research is required. The formatting on the abstract does matter: subsections should be subtitled. The abstract should be complete and understandable without references in the text (make sure any abbreviations are first written out in full). Any abstract from a published scientific journal article based on a systematic review would serve as a useful template or guide. Note the abstract can only be completed once you have written your whole dissertation.
