Are trade agreements undemocratic?

Post: Some activists have argued that international law and international trade agreements are undemocratic. They argue that because such agreements are generally written by non-governmental actors and exert such power in shaping national laws, they are not the product of democratic governance. In a post of between 100 and 250 words either agree or disagree with the claim and justify your stance by pointing to specific laws, agreements, and/or their effects.
