Overview:
Biology can be considered in the context of ‘big ideas’ or major themes. One division that can be made is into ‘Evolution’, ‘Structure & Function’, ‘Information Flow, Exchange, & Storage’, ‘Pathways & Transformations of Energy & Matter’, and ‘Systems & Interactions’.
Your task is to choose one or more biological topics and report on how it relates to each major theme of biology, in a format that could be disseminated to the public (e.g. infographic (Links to an external site.).
Assessment
Submission will be as an individual or as a pair If submitting as a pair then there must be a note during submission that you both believe that you both contributed approximately equally to completing this assignment Overall, you will progressively build a complete project with five sections, following the major themes of biology. Each project will be assessed separately.
Theme I Project: Evolution Theme II Project: Structure and Function Theme III Project: Information Flow, Exchange, and Storage Theme IV Project: Pathways and Transformations of Energy and Matter Theme V Project: Systems and Interactions Each project can be on a different topic, all on the same overarching topic, or a combination (e.g. I-II on one topic, III-V on another)
