Answer the following questions based upon what you have read:
Do the laws enforced by the EEOC apply to the American Red Cross? If no, why don’t they apply? If yes, what could happen to the Red Cross if it violated the laws and regulations enforced by the EEOC?

In what ways, if any, does the hiring and job information provided by the Red Cross seem to reflect the requirements of civil rights laws as explained in the EEOC Fact Sheets on ADA and Race/Color Discrimination?
Do you think the Red Cross would have had similar policies in the late 1800s and early 1900s? Briefly explain why or why not?

Respond to the following questions/items based upon what you have read. The Red Cross’ official commitment to diversity seems to go far beyond the legal prohibitions against discrimination.
Why do you think this is the case?
How does hiring a diverse workforce that understands the different needs and perspectives of diverse groups within the U.S. help the Red Cross accomplish its goals?
Offer at least 1 example of how a commitment to understanding diversity and promoting equal treatment would help the Red Cross to: 1) effectively respond to disasters, 2) obtain necessary blood donations, and 3) obtain the funding and donations it needs to operate?
