Describe what resources or government agencies you will use to stay up to date on public health trends and practices.
As new diseases emerge and new techniques, therapies, and technology are offered, the healthcare business is continually changing. As a practice clinician, you must aim to stay current with such changes in order to provide the best possible care. You have the opportunity to increase your skills and knowledge base by staying current, which is a major contributor to better patient outcomes. Various institutes can assist doctors in staying up to date on public health trends and practices, but government authorities are the most dependable.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the US Department of Health and Human Resources are the specific federal entities that I aim to use to stay current (HHS)
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the principal federal agency responsible for safeguarding Americans against a wide range of health hazards, including all forms of diseases, whether curable or incurable, contagious or not, and whether they originate within or outside the country. To protect individuals from health threats, the CDC identifies and defines health problems, keeps close watch on a specific health concern, conducts critical science, collects and analyzes data, and disseminates information.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the leading medical research organization in the United States. The National Institutes of Health has conducted numerous research programs and generated significant discoveries that have improved the health and saved the lives of countless people in the United States and throughout the world. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) finds initiatives, conducts research, and ensures that the results reach health-care professionals who can use them to maximize the study’s advantages to improve the lives of Americans.
The United States Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) is the largest civilian department in the federal government, responsible for protecting and strengthening the health and well-being of the American people. It achieves this purpose through delivering adequate health and essential human services to all citizens, with a special focus on the poor and underserved. To provide financial programs for the people, HHS collaborates closely with the federal and local governments.
For example, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Medicare program is the nation’s largest health insurer, with over one billion medical claims processed each year. HHS is responsible for managing the execution of a variety of health and welfare programs, as well as supporting the collecting and analysis of health data and promoting improvements in treatment delivery in both health care and non-healthcare settings.
