You might consider such terms as repression, sensory deprivation, isolation, elitism (also consider authority and intimidation), antisocial personality, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), destructive personality, etc. These are just a few suggestions; you may find other terms that may be more appropriate for the character and what you feel defines his or her behavior.
