Description: This course is designed to expand the
student’s knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics and pharmaco-kinetics to broad
categories of pharmacologic agents. Focus will be on pharmaco-therapeutic modalities
utilized by advanced practice nurses.

Point out the role of the advanced practice nurse in the interdisciplinary team
as it relates to pharmacotherapy
2.
Illustrate an understanding of basic pharmacotherapeutic principles (PLO 9, 5).

Identify the pharmacological actions of medications used to treat common
disease entities.
4.
Evaluate drug regimens to provide safe drug therapy (PLO 6, 8).

Design individualized, comprehensive pharmacotherapy plans, and drug monitoring
based on patient specific conditions

Select accessible resources for drug therapy using current evidence-based
practices in clinical expertise
