In this activity, you will analyze some real time seismograms. Find a seismogram that appears to show some significant activity. Based upon the pattern shown in the graph, what do you think might have been happening at that location during the time of the activity?
Answer the following questions to help with your analysis:
What was the duration of the event?
How would you describe the pattern of the markings shown?
What was the amplitude of the markings?
Do you think the source of the vibrations was an earthquake? Explain your reasoning.
Make sure to include the image of the seismogram that you are using.
