Delivering an effective and powerful presentation is key in most forums, for examples, in academic, education or business forums since the presenter has to make a desirable impact when passing the message across. The impact should positive influence the audience in a way that the presenter desires (Sewell, 2019). Therefore, it is important to note that there are various basic principles which an individual needs to follow when preparing the PowerPoint slides for presentation and during the presentation itself. Therefore, this presentation focuses on some of the basic principles to be followed for every slide presentation. In addition, this presentation will also explore a preferred presentation style.

The implication is that a presenter should focus on using large and simple colors. The large and simple text should be matched with theme color of best fist. For example, when presenting with lights on, then efforts should be made to use dark text on a light background to improve visibility. When presenting in large rooms, the text should be large enough to enable the audience to read.

Even though bullets can be used to make points and ideas clearer, it is important to include graphics which depict the major points and helps the audience to understand the ideas better. Bullets can be mixed with graphics to bring the desired impact. For example, instead of using five bullets, one can chose to use two bullets and bring in relevant graphics (Sewell, 2019). Graphics can also be visually appealing to the audience hence improving their concentration and understand of the content presented. However, an overuse of the graphics should be avoided.

As indicated before, the use of graphics can be a great way to eliminate too much words as possible, but even so, the graphics should be simplified so that they only reflect or depict the essential elements that are key (Sewell, 2019). In addition, the information should be organized and conveyed in a more simplified and impactful way by ensuring that the template is streamlined. The use of a single-colored background should be embraced to improve simplicity.

My preferred style of presentation is the visual presentation style. This is a presentation style which entails the use of several visual elements to support the points of discussion and the points. The implication is that a strong mixture of both visuals and text should be used to help enhance the presentation. I like this presentation style because it keeps the audience engaged.
