Application Paper (40 points possible)
The application paper is the culminating paper for the course. The purpose of the
paper is to demonstrate your ability to apply psychological concepts to real life.
Select four (4) concepts from four different modules and apply them to real life
examples. The examples can be from your own life or just real-
world experiences. The modules are listed below:
Biology and Behavior Sensation / Perception Learning Memory
Cognition / Intelligence Human Development Personality Motivation
Stress Social Psychology Psychological Disorders and Treatment
Consciousness
A concept is any term, idea, or theory. Apply it through personal experiences or
observation of others.
Guidelines for the Paper:
This paper is worth a total of 40 points based on the following criteria:
Write a minimum of 3 pages and no more than 4 pages, not including your
References page.
Add a References page for all textbook and course material citations. The
format is as follows:
Licht, D.M., Hull, M.G., & Ballyntne, C. (2019). Presenting
psychology (Second Edition). New York, NY: Worth
Choose four (4) different concepts from four (4) different modules.
For each concept include a brief definition before your discussion and
application of the concept. Your writing should demonstrate comprehension of
the concepts selected and a real-life example of each concept.
Present a paper free of excessive grammatical, spelling, and sentence level
errors. Be sure to proofread and spellcheck your paper before you submit it. Pay
careful attention to your sentence structure (paragraphs, long sentences),
punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
This assignment should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
Your paper should have an introduction, body, and conclusion.
o The introduction should include a clear thesis statement
o The body includes a description of each concept and a real-life
example that illustrates the concept.
o The conclusion should summarize your paper.
