Remember: The RMP does not have a required “format” and hopefully this will help those of you struggling with how to put it on paper. Although there is no specific format, generally most students address the main categories shown on the RMP Review Checklist in the main text of their RMPs and then include an “Appendix” (a second document) to attach pictures and relevant forms/documents. That way the RMP itself can be easily read – The RMP might be only 6-10 pages (I have seen some a lot longer). For instance, when completing the RMP section about “personnel involved” you might include a reference and summary of the job description for the coach/assistant coach. The actual job description would be in the Appendix. When completing the section on insurance, you might include insurance forms in the Appendix. When completing the section on activities, you might include travel permission forms or waivers in the Appendix. The pictures and the facility safety checklist generally relate to the facility and equipment section. The appendix documents are either collected as electronic files or scanned in.
