Renaissance Europe: a visit to landmarks in four countries
-Virtual Tours via Video-
1. To further develop your studies on Renaissance architecture and design, search the web for video clips using the following key words.
2. Search Youtube for and watch range of videos on these topics.
3. On a separate Word document, note key design motifs and other attributes that make these spaces unique to their geographic location/nationality.
(YouTube is a great place to start and will have most, if not all of these)
Italy:
“Alberti, Palazo Rucellai”
“Bramante, Tempietto”
“Laurentian Library”
“La Villa Barbaro”
Spain:
“Alhambra Palace, Granada”
“El Escorial, Madrid”
France:
“loire valley chateau” several to choose from
England:
“A Very British Renaissance” (episodes 1-3) no need to watch all these in their entirety, simply enough to identify key motifs
“Hampton Court”
There are youtube videos that can help with each section. In the ‘Additional Help’ File.
Note: I just need 5 motifs or design attributes for each of the four countries.
