Content Strategy Proposal Specifications-
You
have identified an organization’s website in the Website Analysis
Assignment. As an intern for the same organization and website, the next
project will be to develop a content strategy proposal for your
organization’s web presence. Please use the 1st person plural point of
view, “we,” “us,” and “our,” because you are included as a part of the
organization.
Two Parts: Profile & Proposal
PART 1
1. Content Strategy Profile: 800 words: Add to, revise and edit your previous website analysis into a three-page summary of the audience’s needs for the website. Your summary should include:
Purpose
Describe the purpose. Include at the beginning of the Content Strategy Proposal.
Is the site for entertainment, for news, education, or for something else?
Interactor profile
Use
the Interactor Analysis Tool(MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS BELOW) to analyze the intended target audience
for this website. Include this analysis in the beginning of the Content
Strategy Proposal.
Who is the intended reader of the website’s content?
Frequency of publication
How often does the content need to be updated?
Is the content current and relevant?
Information challenges
What specific information does the audience need to know, or what information does the organization need to broadcast?
Do any special obstacles stand in the way of communicating that information quickly and clearly?
Content Fitness
Describe the website’s content fitness,
using your findings from our class discussion and our textbook
information about Information Quality.
Does the Information Quality of the website and social media meet
the needs of the audience? Why or why not? Provide examples from the
organization’s web presence (website, social media, etc.), and your
writings from our class discussion.
Social Media Presence
Is there a blog?
Does it meet the needs of the audience?
What about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram accounts?
Is the social media presence appropriate, updated regularly and relevant to the audience?
The competition
What organizations are competing for the same audience? Locate these
organizations’ websites and provide thorough comparisons to your
organization’s website. INCLUDE CHARTS!
PART 2
2. Content Strategy Proposal: 550 words: Based on the profile, propose the content strategy for the organization.
What aspects of their web presence need revisiting, and how would you plan to address those issues?
What about changes/additions to their social media presence? Which social media sites need work and why?
Describe ways you would increase readership on the organization’s social media sites and redirect users to the website.
Summarize your findings and proposed changes in a unifying conclusion.

Content Strategy Proposal Specifications
1350 words
12 point sans serif font (Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, Open Sans, etc.).
Headings can be larger text size and bold style. Do not underline headings or sub-headings (they look like links).
Guidelines:
Link: Include a link to your organization’s website at the top of the document so that the site is easily accessible.
First Person Plural: Use first person plural point of view: “we, us, our,” because you’re an intern working for the organization.
3 References:
Integrate at least 3 references to your textbook (and any other
readings) to back up the points you are making and add credibility to
your ideas. Hint: The proposal is a great place to use this kind of
persuasiveness.
APA Style: Use
APA Style of attribution for all citations and images. Be mindful
about the differences between how to cite web pages and web sites (see
“Attribution of Sources” pages in Module 0). Cite screen shots like you
would images, with you as the author.
Screenshots: Include screenshots of appropriate web pages or features to illustrate the points you are making.
Edit/Chunk/Layer:
Edit, chunk and layer your writing for scan-ability. Use headers and
include links, bullet lists, pullout quotes and visuals (screenshots),
just like you would for any writing for digital media. Keep practicing
these skills.
