1. Write a paragraph on body percussion and percussion instruments. Discuss any key ideas or pedagogical aspects for body percussion and making sounds with objects and percussion instruments. What added values might be achieved through these activities?
2. Write a paragraph discussing the suggested examples of teaching materials for lower elementary maths lessons with music and books. There are examples here with readings of the Hungry Caterpillar and Five Little Monkeys. Also, there’s a video a colleague from Uganda sent me of their students acting out the 5 little monkeys song while they sing it. Mention how you might implement any of these ideas of using books and musical activities (chanting, body percussion and music instruments) in your own teaching, explain the pedagogical approaches you might use and the impact you’d hope this would have on your students.
