Task:

The topic of this piece of coursework is fire safety risk. The fire which destroyed Grenfell Tower in June 2017 was one of the UK’s worst modern disasters. On the 14 June, fire broke out in the kitchen of a fourth floor flat at the 23-storey tower block in North Kensington, West London.
 
Within minutes, the fire had raced up the exterior of the building and then spread to all four sides. Seventy-two people died. Taking the title as Grenfell Tower: What Happened, and utilising a wide range of pertinent, up to date literature and official documents (including any public inquiry being conducted), prepare a report that will investigate the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the fire at Grenfell Tower on the night of 14th June 2017. In particular, how did the fire start and how did it spread so quickly throughout the building?
The evacuation process and what kind of building was Grenfell?
What went wrong and could it have been prevented?
Also, what are the implications of this event for other buildings?
