Write a mission statement, and choose a nursing framework based on a nursing theorist. This will guide your curriculum.
Develop realistic standards for admission to your program as well as realistic graduation requirements (e.g., do students need to maintain a certain GPA?).
Review the AACN Essentials for Baccalaureate Education Tool Kit. Based on the Essentials and a review of your prelicensure program in Week 2, what classes will a student need to take to finish their BSN? Create a list of the courses (you will need to create the name of the course only). You will also need to create a list of how you intend to measure quality (refer to the Essentials Tool Kit for ideas).
List all of the areas that will cost the program money (Hint: faculty are one, course development is another; think about all of the individuals with whom you currently interact within your nursing program).
Conclude with an educated estimate of how much it costs to operate a nursing program per year.
