Critically explore an interior that is of interest to you in relation to two key words.
The subject is based around a guest speaker program in which each week a member of the Interior Design program explore an interior that has been significant to their research. As you know, the case studies are been highly diverse – we have explored different cultures, histories and times. The course has also modelled different approaches to the discipline of Interior Design. Interior Design might be described as an expanded discipline, open to new practices and ideas.
For this essay you will be invited to act like one of the guest speakers. You will:
1. select an interior that is of interest to you
2. nominate two key words and use these to critically explore this interior
This assignment encourages you to follow your own interests and start articulating your emerging interests in interior design. You will also develop skills in independent scholarly research.
The ability to develop an argument which is based on evidence and critical reasoning is an important skill for a designer. You will develop these skills in this class through the development of an essay.
