Paper format: APA, Times New Roman 12 point font, 1 inch margins, double-spaced. The length of the paper should be a minimum of 1500 words not counting citations and reference page. Be sure to include your name on the when you submit your paper on SacCT.
This is a book review, so will include your own opinions expressed in academic prose (not “I think the author is a good writer” but instead use analytical language to state your opinion – for example, “The author’s use of suspense in the narrative is a highly effective tool to connect the reader to the everyday tensions rangers face in the field.”
Brief summary: A one paragraph overview of the contents and scope of each book.
Topical connections to RPTA 152: While reading the books, look over the course topics listed in the course schedule and analyze the book in light of these topics.
Reflection: How did you react to the books while reading them? What questions remain in your mind after reading the books? Did the history book miss anything?
Read: And did you really read the book (up to -50 points). This is a bit nebulous but your reflection needs to show that you really did the reading. This is primarily accomplished through substantive comments relating to specific examples and themes of the book vs. statements like “this book was hard to read because there were a lot of words.”
