Introduction
One of the main points of emphasis of your Reflective Thinking journey has been to develop metacognitive capabilities through the active and regular practice of introspection to continuously learn through and from past and present experiences in order to gain new insights of the self, behaviors and practices for future planning. The summative will have you reflect on your journey thus far and what is ahead in your education journey.
Part 1: The Reflection
How have the tools, frameworks and concepts you learned in Reflective Thinking impacted both how you think about education and what you want to get out of your education? Be sure to illustrate this impact through specific examples that demonstrate your learnings from each micro-course you select. To show a demonstration of understanding of your own personal development through your education and passions, reflect on this journey and five (5) of the eight micro-courses with their corresponding guiding questions (below) using a portfolio.
- Articulating Process: What does the process map for you achieving your educational and socioemotional goals look like? What are the points of inspection in your process that will require more investigation, and what reasoning are you using to justify the various components of your process in achieving your goals?
- Articulating Purpose: Reflecting back to your journey of articulating your purpose, and mission statement, what are your PICS (Passion, Interests, a cause you care about, and the skills you have)? How do they connect to your mission and to the change you want to make? What is your mission statement and purpose, and why have you chosen them? How will they guide you moving forward to your journey?
- Motivation: Write out your own Motivation manifesto and a game plan for how to communicate it to people you work with. Write a script for a TED talk style presentation teaching people how to communicate their motivations to their teams (10-15 minutes).
- Portfolio Building: How will you use the skills immersion period (internship) to build your skills for career planning?
- Procrastination: Knowing what you now know about procrastination, how was your quality of life in your previous procrastination story? Using the 8 dimensions of wellness (Links to an external site.), what is your new quality of life story in all of these dimensions?
- Reflective Practice: How can you utilise reflective practice in your everyday life to improve the quality of your social and academic contexts? Elaborate on Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle and give examples of each context to support your response.
- Teaching Forward: After reading through different learning styles, how best would you leverage your learning style to improve study methods?
