Written Coursework Information
The written coursework for SOR3004 constitutes 20% of the module and is due to be submitted
during Week 11.
>TASK:
The written assignment comprises of an individual report based on an investigation (independent
and individual) of a given dataset. The main body of the report should be no longer than 10 pages
.You will receive the dataset in week 5.
The dataset should be analysed in SAS using techniques studied in SOR3004. Typically the report
should include (though not restricted to)
1) Exploratory analysis of the dataset.
2) Assumptions and general formulations of any key models used.
3) Assessment of the adequacy of the fitted model and any changes/ updates made were
necessary.
4) Interpretation of the results and discussion of conclusions obtained.
5) Avenue(s) for future investigations of the dataset.
Assessment:
You will be asked to submit both the written report and the SAS code used. The report will be
assessed utilising QUB’s Conceptual Equivalent Scales which can be found here:
