Explore social development of these age groups a little more closely: ages 3-5, Age 5-8, ages 8-10, ages 10-12. For each age group, identify the characteristics children exhibit in each of the following categories: self-concept, gender identity, and socialization. In the socialization category, for each age group address these 5 questions What are 5-12 year old children like socially? What do they like to do? With whom do they like to interact? How do they form relationships? How do they express their feelings? Finally, include a narrative describing how you as a teacher/caregiver can impact a child’s social development.
