PlEASE SEE BELOW FOR INSTRUCTIONS. THIS IS A MARKETING CLASS (EVENT MARKETING). Please reach out for an question
As you have learned in class, event marketing has many moving parts that occur during a short period of time…that is what makes event marketing so challenging! One way that your event succeeds, is by having happy sponsors and happy event attendees. The sponsors provide you with the financing for the event as well as the event perks you offer the attendees. Both the sponsors and the attendees provide you with opportunities to promote your event. For this assignment, you will work to secure sponsors for your event.
As background, you have just left Xbox and joined Condé Nast’s marketing department. Your new CMO (Dr. Carnegie) has asked that you work with the events department (event planning) and the communications department (promotion) to determine who should sponsor Vogue’s Fashion Week party to launch the Spring Collections. Numerous designers will be highlighted during the party.
You will review information about prior events to determine what has and hasn’t worked in the past.
Once you determine your target sponsors, you will outline why each company should be approached to be a sponsor. How much money will you ask and what ROI are you offering the sponsors? What are the sponsorship opportunities? What perks are you offering the attendees through these sponsorships?
Your job is to decide how best to make use of the opportunity to support brand building of Condé Nast.
What we are looking for in this paper (memo format) is a rationale of why you are taking this approach on sponsorship to serve the client’s needs. It requires some thinking about the state of things for the industry, committing to some objectives and a promotional strategy, and a detailed plan on how you measure success.
Write a 1500 word memo to Dr. Carnegie that describes your sponsorship plan and how you imagine it will play out with attendees. Please include at least two external sources related to the field of marketing, then synthesize the material into evidence supporting your original thoughts. The front of the memo should include who the memo is to, who it is from, the subject of the memo (& the assignment title), the date composed, and a word count. Your memo should be concise with the key objective of the memo in the first paragraph. All sources must be cited using APA guidelines to earn credit.
Please refer to the rubric for further guidance.
